Photography Book

The story of my photography book chronicles the vicious food chain of the fictional creatures that I personally designed and named.  Each creature was crafted from soft modeling clay that would allow manipulation after the piece had been finished.  The designs of the creatures are meant to steadily increase in ferocity and size.  The largest model was about six inches long while the smallest was about the size of a pinky nail.  I’ve always enjoyed playing with clay so I wanted to make my final photography project something that I knew I would enjoy.  The pages were printed on a matte paper (single sided) and bound together at the spine with glue.  To give it extra strength the pages were wrapped in black paper that was attached to the cover of the book. The body of the cover is made from two pieces of crescent board cut an eighth of an inch longer than the pages on each side save the spine.  The cover itself is a matte canvas paper cut to fold over the edges of the boards, the colors aren’t as vibrant on canvas but, it has a great texture that is really pleasant to touch.
